Like all great stories, this one started from a spark of a problem. As the news of the Corona virus outbreak 2020 starting making the rounds, it turns out that with so much uncertainty fewer people were adopting pets, and adoption events all around the world were canceled due to social distancing efforts. It really didn’t take long before shelters were absolutely swamped with a tremendous number of pets. Oh noes.

Popbuddi Homeless pets

After learning about this horrible effect from an employee at local shelter, and then seeing the lack of cover about this topic in news media, I (hereby referred to as ”The Allmighty Founder”) thought to myself ”How can I use my +20 years as the worlds greatest designer and animal lover to actually spread some awareness about this?”

Turns out, coming up with a world changing idea to save all pets wasn’t easy. The Allmighty Founder thought really long and hard.

Popbuddies hard at work

The Allmighty Founder took a step back, and started by reading up on the health benefits about owning pets, and found out that studies show pets can lower our blood pressure and stress levels. People with dogs and cats are less likely to be depressed, and pets promote healthy childhood development.

That’s when it hit him (not middle age, a super awesome idea). ”Why not contact a local shelter and having them send me pictures of a homeless pets. I can then take those animals and dress them up as a superheroes to promote their superhero-like health benefits… Everyone wants to have their own superhero at home, obvi.

And according to a complete and thorough market research our idea were a total blast.

Turns out, The Allmighty Founder was right. After weeks of social media feeds filled with negativ quarantine news, seeing a cat named ”Meowzer” dressed up as ”Meownder Woman” was exactly what people needed and the artwork was instantly well received by the crowd.

”People enjoyed it so much, it was worth every minute of the time I spent on the project. And I just knew I had to continue. I spend the whole next day contacting shelters and telling them about my project, and everyone really loved the idea of these ”supetstars”.

”They actually liked the images so much, they wanted to have them in their offices and in their homes. I mean, how’s that for feedback?” - The Allmighty Founder says and smiles (really awkwardly).

At the end of the day,  The Allmighty Founder just love animals and he don’t want people to feel alone. When you have an animal in your life, you’re never feeling alone,” he says, and promise to stop talking to himself in third person very soon.

I’m not going to rescue all the homeless animals of the world by doing this… but if even ONE animal finds a loving home due to my art, it’s been worth every minute of it.”
